Don't Ignore New Ducting Regulations!
Businesses have been warned that they could be putting their livelihoods at risk if they ignore new guidelines on ducting systems.
Aspokesman with the Environmental Services said if companies ignored the government regulations that came into effect in 2005 then insurance policies could become invalid. He also added that fires can spread rapidly throughout the ventilation systems.
Companies should seriously consider putting in place a programme to ensure that ducting is cleaned in line with these new Safety Guidelines (TR19 section 7 Ventilation Hygiene). Failure to comply could have serious complications if a fire occurs.
Demand for specialist services within the sector is on the increase with Hygiene Cleaning services undertaking a large number of duct and ventilation canopy cleans in both private and public sectors.
