Don't Ignore New Ducting Regulations

Businesses have been warned that they could be putting their livelihoods at risk if they ignore new guidelines on ducting systems.

A spokesman with the Environmental Services said if companies ignored the government regulations that came into effect in 2002 then insurance policies could become invalid. He also added that fires can spread rapidly throughout the ventilation systems.

Companies should seriously consider putting in place a programme to ensure that ducting is cleaned in line with these new Safety Guidelines (TR17). Failure to comply could have serious complications if a fire occurs.
